Alex Jones: this week I’m…
The One Show presenter shares the cultural highlights of her week
‘Watching Broadchurch. Everyone said it was fantastic but I’m too impatient to wait for one episode per week, so I’m catching up now. It’s brilliant; everything David Tennant touches is absolute gold.
Listening to Bruno Mars. His album is lovely and he’s the nicest guy in the world. My favourite track is ‘When I was your man’ although whenever I play it my boyfriend looks nervous, as if it’s a subliminal message.@BrunoMars
Reading Seducing Ingrid Bergman by Chris Greenhalgh. It’s the story of her illicit affair with a war photographer: how they met in Paris and fell in love. It’s brilliant and glamorous but tragic.
Eating at La Trompette in Chiswick. The menu is seasonal so everything’s really fresh. It does great seafood – we went there for our two-year anniversary and I had black cod, which was delicious.latrompette.co.uk
Drinking espresso martinis at Bunga Bunga in London. I had three and didn’t sleep the entire night. We did karaoke: excellent fun but really embarrassing. bungabunga-london.com
Cooking bread. It was undercooked and doughy; Paul Hollywood spat it out. My New Year’s resolution was to become a better cook. Next time I’ll know to leave it in the oven longer.
Visiting the Natural History Museum – I took my parents when they were in town. There’s always something new to see. If you’ve only got an hour, head to the Treasures gallery – that’s where they keep the museum’s oldest and best finds. nhm.ac.uk
Logging onto Skyscanner. I’m always looking for flights; it’s nice to have a holiday to look forward to. My boyfriend is pretty hopeless at planning so I do it myself. skyscanner.net
Exercising at Ten Pilates. I thought reformer pilates would be easy – what a mistake. It kills. You feel like jelly afterwards, but it’s wonderful for toning and core strength. You see results straightaway. tenpilates.com
